Now for the last couple of months I had been dragging my feet getting to rehearsals. I'd lost my French Horn playing zeal (it didn't help that night times at home were stressful with DH's work schedule and 4 little kid-o's needing attention). So, I was ready to put my horn away for a season or two, to get a break. Well, playing in the Assembly Hall brought back that zeal. It is a beautiful hall with awesome acoustics (translation: French Horns sound loud!). It also brought back memories of the good times playing in ensembles at Ricks College (I played in both the Assembly Hall and the Tabernacle while in those groups). It is amazing to play music in a hall that allows you to feel excited. This probably doesn't make much sense but it was fun for me. It also helped that the concert was only 50 minutes long and my parents, husband, and kids were all there.
So, I guess I'll give symphony another go in the fall. Zeal or no zeal I'm taking the summer off.
