Mother's Day 2008

We have 2 great Mothers in our midst. I am so grateful and appreciative of these two women who often help this not so great mother out.

On another note, I sure enjoyed our church's sacrament meeting program on Sunday. My DH spoke for a few of the minutes and one of the things he said that I enjoyed was while comparing the Priesthood to Motherhood. He said that he couldn't expect himself to be perfect in the Priesthood in this life, as I can't expect to be perfect in Motherhood. It was better in context, but it made me feel ok for the moment about being a little crappy. Also, the Bishop mentioned again that Motherhood is like the atonement. Christ did something for us that we cannot do ourselves, as much of motherhood is doing things for our children that they cannot do. This too was WAY better in context especially as he talked about sacrifice (actually consecration, but that is a subject for another day and place). I loved thinking about the fact that what I am doing is like the Savior, and made for a great rest of the day for me (thanks in part also to the great nap I had).

It's proof that you do wash your clothes, Aaron.
