What I've been watching lately...

Perhaps the reason there was little summer fun was because I stayed up late watching movies this last week.

Continuing in my Jane Austen viewing I watched "Lost in Austen."

In this movie Amber Price, who dreams of a romance for herself like those found in "Pride and Prejudice" changes spots with Elizabeth Bennet. There were some real gems in this movie and I laughed quite a bit. Amber finds out that the characters are not what she expects them to be. Wickam for instance is not such a bad guy, and Mrs. Bennet is not just silly, she is mean. Before you all rush to put this in your Netflix queue you should know that there is some crude humor.

I also watched the incredibly stupid LDS version of "Pride and Prejudice." The story was a bit silly and the acting poor. Definately an hour and half I will never get back.

Gabe and I have also been enjoying "Foyle's War." This takes place in England during WW2. Detective Foyle is an investigator. The stories all have to do with the military happenings and are really interesting. This is a great mystery series.

Try watching "Bride & Prejudice" a Bollywood movie. It is one of my favorite versions. I love the music in it and it is fun to see it done with another culture. The lady who directed it did "Bend it Like Beckham" too. - Vicki

I second the "Bride and Prejudice"! Its a fun, funny musical--and visually fab to watch! We (I) had to buy a copy for ourselves (myself) after watching it..:)
