Week 2: Summer Fun

This week we went to the Discovery Park. It didn't work out for any friends to meet us there, but the kids had a ton of fun on their own. We had never been here before, but had a great time. If you haven't gone, check it out.

Here are some pictures I stole. My camera along with our lunch was locked in the car, with the car keys. The good tax payers of PG helped me out sending a police officer out to open it up for me. Afterwards, I splurged and bought the kids $.69 ice cream cones from Arctic Circle. Way back when I was a little girl my parents would sometimes treat us to $.25 ice cream cones. I'm just trying to build some memories, a couple dollars at a time. Anyway, a good time was had by all.

Thursday was free day at This is the Place Heritage Park. I hadn't been there in years (15 maybe) and so I was anxious to see the place again. It is a beautiful park. Amazingly it wasn't crazy crowded and we were able to have a great time. The kids rode on the ponies and the mini train, loved their free ice cream cones, enjoyed the Native American exhibit and the big train. The older boys were interested in seeing more exhibits, but the little kids were beat by lunch time so we headed home before the gigantic thunder storm and promised to visit again another time.

I love the idea of doing one fun thing each week. We should meet up and use those free bowling passes at Fat Cats one day! The kids would love it!
