Week 11: Summer Fun

On Thursday we went with my mom to the Utah County State Fair here in Spanish Fork. Good things #1 and #2 groaned for about 30 minutes that there was nothing fun there, just dumb animals. This stemmed from my mom and I telling them we wouldn't be riding the carnival rides, but that there would be tons of cool things to see. By the end though, they were both talking about how it was the best day of their lives, etc. Highlights for the children included climbing the rock wall, seeing the Lego display, winning the cake walk, picking up lots of stickers and candy, seeing the tank, and doing some craft projects. Highlights for me included chatting with my mom, spending time in the fresh "derriere" (dairy air- old joke my dad use to share), and telling my kids, "I told you so."

On Saturday we went to my Grandma Shirley's family reunion. My boys had a great time running around.

Later we met up with the Gunderson cousins for a "Kid-only Back to School Party." Special thanks to Nate and Bonnie for hosting all the rug rats. Again my boys had a great time running around. I also had a great time eating out with 2 of my SIL's, while our kids were partying. Good times.

I think it's universal that children whine and moan about any activity that they don't remember or have never participated in.

It cracks me up when they, in the blink of an eye, realize that they are in fact having fun.

Told you so!!!
