On Saturday morning, when I should have been at the Primary Activity I was in charge of, the kids and I went to Orem to help my dad out. As I've posted before, he is running for the State Legislature. All of Lindon is in his district so we helped him get the word out by participating in the Lindon days parade. My dad made us breakfast before hand then we headed out to the starting point where Sage gave all the kids cute tatoos and we outfitted our strollers with "Baugh" signs.
The parade was less than a mile long and only had 36 entrants so it was perfect length for my children. GT's #3 and #4 were in heaven running along throwing candy (and eating it) and passing out pencils. I tried to keep things interesting by yelling, "Baugh for Utah" every 100 yards or so(much to the annoyance of my siblings). Andrew and my mom, who were in the jeep in front kept having to wait for us to catch up, thus causing a huge gap in Lindon's tiny parade. I'm sure this caused Bon Losee hair designers to roll their eyes more than once, since they had to wait up for us (and our children) many times.
All in all my kids and I had fun, and I think we were successful getting my dad's name out there. At the very least a lot of Lindon residents now have a writing utensil to use come school time. And about the activity, I'm sorry I wasn't there, but I'm glad everyone liked the Popsicles I brought. (Smith's $.88 a bag) :)
