January Wrap-Up

I think January is everyone's least favorite month. It's the middle of winter (even if it is super mild) and we're still recuperating from the holidays. When you're pregnant, it's even longer than normal, too. We managed to keep busy with weekly Cub Scouts and basketball games, school, piano and homework.

Other items of January business included:
This kid up to his usual: drawing pictures, studying maps, and thinking about historical facts. He sat at the table here for hours one day. Really...hours.

Everyone received a "Pass of All Passes" for Christmas this year, so on our day off from school we hit Trafalga for some laser tag, miniature golf, and rock wall climbing. Earlier in the month we also went to a UVU basketball game which everyone enjoyed as well.

We took a trip to the Baugh cabin on the long weekend (Martin Luther King Day). I was super excited about the prospect of a relaxing fun night together with our family. The cabin is fun, but it gets a bit squished when all the Baugh's are there, but since it was just our fam I thought we might all sleep really well. Sadly, Little Miss was up all night with ear aches. We searched the place top to bottom for pain killers of some sort, but none were to be found. It ended up being a very looong night for Gabe and I. The big boys did get their snow gear on and played in the snow a bit Monday morning though and had a good time sledding. So, despite the bad night, most of the kids had fun and it was nice to be together as a family (with Gabe with us).

One afternoon I laid GT #5 down for a nap. I sat down at the computer to do my stuff, when who should appear, but my little friend. He was proud as can be peeking around the corner, and then coming up to me to say, "Hi, mom." He is my first of 5 kids to climb out of his crib. He now sleeps on the floor next to his sister's bed...or sometimes in her bed.

This little boy also learned to say sorry this month, by giving out hugs.

He also found himself in a little trouble when he tried to help himself to a little of this...

...by climbing up onto this....

And the last thing to note is that Good Thing #2 came through with this fantastic gift for me (see my facebook post with his calendar, "make card and attach candy!!!")

When I told GT #4 that it was my birthday she said, "But you didn't hang up the birthday sign." I put it up and ate some candy to celebrate 35. Other b-day fun included lunch with my SIL the day before, lunch with my friend and dinner with Gabe the day of, and another lunch with friends a couple days later.
