Summer: Week 2

This week I made up a cleaning schedule, demanded some school work be done, and ignored my daughter telling me three times that she cut her hair. A few lessons were learned:

1. All of us in one cleaning zone is a bit crowded, but does mute my yelling a bit.
2. You get what you ask for from an 8 year old's summer writing assignment. More on this later.
3. Pay attention to your daughter.

Other activities included park day with our Baugh cousins. We met at Windsor park in Orem this week. It was nostalgic for me since that was where I played growing up. Everyone had a good time.

We also spent the weekend in Moab with the Gunderson's. Can you believe in 33 years I had never been to Arches? I was lucky to hike Delicate Arch early Saturday morning and Gabe and the older boys went later. It is so awesome.

We survived camping. Now that there are 7 of us we are a 2 tent family. Our tents kept us dry, and the good company kept us not bored. I'm definitely inspired to try camping again, and would love to spend more time in Arches.

Oh, and GT #1's writing paper...4 sentences with a title and picture about someplace you'd like to go. His submission:

The place I'd like to go

The place I'd like to go to is the bathroom. The shower is nice and hot. In it there is a bathtub/shower, sink, and my favorite the toilet. And that is where I'd like to go.

I went to Moab for the first time a few years ago (but I didn't grow up here, like you did:) We actually hiked Delicate Arch with the kids. It was . . . fun.

p.s. The bathroom . . . I'm still laughing.
