I have no pictures to prove this, but we also used up some discount passes we had to Jumping Jacks on Thursday and later had a picnic dinner at Gabe's work.
Friday we did our best to honor the Pioneers by celebrating the day in fine fashion.
We actually out did ourselves in celebration this year. It helped that Gabe had the day off, whereas he's had to work the last couple of Pioneer Days. The big boys ran in a mile kids run first thing in the morning. GT#2 got off to a bit of a rocky start. He fell at the beginning and was trampled a little. I was really proud of him for getting up and running his heart out. He even beat his big brother, but lets not rub that in.
We joined some of my family for the Spanish Fork Parade and then trusted the Carnies with the children's lives. Afterwards we drove up the canyon to join the Poulsen family in some pioneer games and parade, food and prizes, and fun with cousins. The big boys especially enjoyed the zip line.
I think the highlight in Gabe's week was his homemade sushi. To each his own.

"Trusted the kids lives to the carnies..." LOVE it! I', so rolling on the floor laughing cuz I think that all the time. Every year, without fail, we get the kids up on the Ferris wheel with grandpa and Dave leans over and says to me "I wonder how sturdy that thing is with them setting it up and down all the time?" UGH! Scary! Anyway, looks like a fun 24th and congrats to Jake for his run!!
I love that bonnet that Liz has. It is way cute. Way to go to the boys for running. I love reading about your summer.
