More May Happenings

I love when my tulips bloom. They are beautiful. My neighbor gave them to me four years ago. It's silly, but they give me hope...that one day my whole yard will look as good as this one little patch does. Also, to be kind to those around me, and to be faithful. A lot of lessons from tulips. Anyway, last week the delightful girl I babysit picked my tulips. When Good Thing #3 asked her if she picked the flowers, she said, "Only the purple ones." Though I prefer them out front, they did look nice on my table.

A couple days later the pink ones opened, fortunately on a non-babysitting day ;)

We had some chicken drama, too. We had been enjoying taking the chickens out of their box and watching them out in the back. Unfortunately, we also enjoy doing other things and became distracted. The computer may or may not have been involved.

Too late, I remembered that we had left the chickens out, and wouldn't you know it, they had wandered off. The big boys were at school, so me and the little ones looked around for them. By divine providence, one returned. When the big boys came home from school they were both upset. GT #1 immediately wrote up a note to hang on the mailboxes in the neighborhood, "Gundy's chicken on the loose. Be on the lookout." GT #2 went to his room to cry. My friend told me that it was bad for the remaining chicken's mental health to be alone. Who am I to ruin a chicken's mental health? So, later that evening we headed to Cal Ranch store and bought 2 new chicks.

We are now the proud owners of 3 chickens.
