GT #3 and I planted watermelon seeds just for fun last spring. Of course I really didn't expect anything to grow, I mean I have a very non green thumb. Last night though we ate a real live delicious watermelon from our very own soil.
Pretty fun.
P.S. We also got a bunch of carrots, but that is not that exciting.

We tried watermelon this year too! We have one on the vine. It's about the size of a large softball. I'm wondering if it will get any bigger or if I should just pick it and see if there's anything inside worth eating.

We had one that broke off the vine about that size. We cut it open and tasted it. There was no color and no flavoring. The kids voted it tasted like a cucumber.
AWESOME! I have never had success with watermelon and I think I have a fairly green thumb!
