December Happenings

Further evidence that I was not feeling it this month....very few pictures.  This month I spent most days thinking, "What needs to be done so I can have a baby?"  Things ended up being a bit of a checklist for me.  It made Christmas scaled down a bit, but also took a bit of the joy away too.  Looking back now, I should have just been content to be pregnant (HA, tell that to a 9 month pregnant woman!)

-We decorated the house the end of November, check
-I had my 34 week 3D ultrasound.  It was AMAZING to see that little face.  I was so touched and actually quite happy all day looking at it.  I'd never had one before and she got such a great shot.  The kids were all sure it was a boy from the picture.
-I was in charge of the Council Reflections awards program.  It went really well...and I officially retire from Council PTA, check.
-Samuel started lessons from Sister Olsen in our ward a couple weeks prior, but wanted to participate in the recital.  He played "Fur Elise" and "Deck the Halls."  He did great on both, though I think he was disappointed in his performance.
We went to SLC as a family.  First to the Discovery Children's museum, dinner at Crown Burger and then a walk around Temple Square with a million other people.

The kids put together houses.  Samuel and Joseph were there too, obviously they missed the photo op though.

Joseph showing off his wiggly tooth, that came out in the store shortly after.
Liz had a choir concert.  We missed the night performance (to go to Gabe's work party...also missed Joseph's concert that night).
Izeni work party at Pizza Factory.

We went to the Baugh Christmas party in Ephraim.  Jacob played his saxophone, Samuel the piano, Ben and Gabe showed everyone how to count in binary and Liz and I sang a song, "Samuel Tells of the Baby Jesus."
-Liz had been taking dance classes here in the neighborhood taught by a teenage girl.  The recital was the same day as the Ephraim party so I went to her final dance class the previous Wednesday to watch her. Check.  I also had someone run the Party with the Principal at the school for me. Check. And, I got my toenails all painted so they'd look cute for delivery. Check.  Jacob started wrestling at the Junior High so I got to see him at one of his meets too.  Check.  I did not make it to Samuel's class to see his gingerbread house project though.  No check ;)

-Tom's family was in town for the weekend before Christmas so we got to spend time with them on Sunday the 21st.  I got all the Christmas stuff absolutely done by the 22nd. Check.  I also found out that day that I was unlikely to have a baby the following Monday as I had been led to believe...that did not help my Christmas cheer.  That night we watched BYU football at the Baugh's though and I tried not to be a kill joy. We also visited the Festival of Lights sometime this week.  Check.

-The 23rd we had a Baugh family Christmas party with french dip sandwiches, cookie decorating for the kids, bingo, and christmas story telling and scripture reading.  Grandma made pillow cases for the children.

-The 24th we had a Gunderson family Christmas party at Shannon's house with soups, treats and gift exchanges.  There was a pinata and a puzzle challenge as well, plus a nativity program.  Then it was home to tuck sweet little kids in bed.

-Christmas morning was fun.  Santa brought the children 3 gifts each.  Something to wear, something to read and something to play with.  I liked this arrangement.  They got other gifts under the tree that I think they all enjoyed.  Gabe gave me earrings and we got a new toaster.  I gave him black out curtains for ultimate good sleep.  All season Elfie the elf had been around.  He headed back to the North Pole, but I think he was fun.  He brought a couple DVD's, The Polar Express book, coloring books and an xbox game.  We went to the Baugh's in the afternoon and hung out there until the evening.  My parents gave us a book, socks, a New Testament DVD, money and a decorative plate.
Christmas 2014.  This is it, the one picture...eat it up!
-On the 26th I met Andrew and Kayli at the mall where we ate dinner then watched, Into the Woods.  It was a fun date and I wanted to see that movie before the baby came.  Check.
The boys out and about with Gabe.  Gabe bought some Raspberry Pi computers and did all sorts of project with motors and flashlights over the break.  They were out getting supplies and worked up quite an appetite apparently.
Here's Eve probably trying to cheer me up since I kept crying.  All because I STILL didn't have a baby.  Really the last week of December was very difficult for me.

-On the 30th we went to Hang Time then met my parent's at Applebee's (to use up the kid's meal coupons before they expired) then got doughnuts at Krispie Kreme.  On the 31st we went to the Baugh's for dinner and games.  Baby was moving around a lot and I thought, maybe, just maybe I'd go into labor.  Didn't happen.  Everyone stayed up to ring in the New Year (except Eve who went to bed at grandma's- and got sick...just to keep things exciting).
