September Happenings

Hey look, we did some fun things in September-
We visited the cabin on Labor Day.
Joseph started preschool (First ever time I've paid for it.  Milestone in my life, for sure).  He also started a "Let's Play Music" class.
This little girl started neighborhood preschool (playgroup).  I was determined to take a break this year,  but let's be honest in the end I can't help but enjoy the 4 weeks I don't have to be the teacher.
I got my awesome drawing framed.  Still love, love, love it.
Liz got to be one of the first in her class to take the class monkey, Cocoa, home for the weekend.  He got to eat ice cream with us.
...and watch Jacob's football game.
Nothing like starting the year off with a project, right?  This is Samuel's chicken sarcophagus.  He did a great job putting it together.  His didn't get chosen to actually hold the chicken though, so that was a disappointment.
My Space Derby Pack Night was a success.  It helped to have these visitors there.  Darth Vader gave a speech about cooperation and helped hand out awards.  They both posed for pictures and then the boys made paper rockets and shot them off.  Cubmaster win, for sure.
A picture of the girls doing what they could to make watching football fun.
Eve making herself some lunch.
And we got a new cat.  She was a stray found down by the school that Liz brought home (she had permission from Gabe to do so).  We fed her and she stuck around.  The kids wanted to name her "Charcoal" since our other black cat named Charcoal ran away, but Gabe helped Liz settled on "Bagheera."  We now have 8 chickens and 2 cats...urban farming at its best.
