A few things to remember about October-
Eve loves the kitties. Here she is trying to find them:
Samuel finished up his state projects, he was quite proud of his flag, which did look great:We were super saddened by the passing of a family member. Gabe's cousin's lost their 11 year old son in an accident. We spent a lot of time reflecting on life, our beliefs, and praying for family. Samuel and I attended the funeral together. After such a sobering meeting it was fun to stop for just a few minutes at a park nearby. I watched my son, and thought about the blessings in my life. Love my children and my dear, dear husband.
After many years in our home, we were finally able to finish up the yard, which included putting in some curbing. As soon as the men finished the job, cleaned up and left, one delightful child stepped in a couple of spots. Lucky for him, we were still going through a period of "enjoy everything your children do, they are gifts" and he didn't get in too much trouble.
I finished up the canning for the year. After this set I declared myself officially done. It helped that I had used up every empty jar in my house. Fruits of my labors included: jams, tomatoes, salsa, beets, peaches, grape juice and applesauce.
For fall break we stayed in the Baugh cabin in Scofield. For the most part we had a great time. Poor Gabe was a bit stressed since the water heater broke while we were there. But, because he's awesome, he got it working by the second day. We relaxed, walked around, visited a museum in Price, and played at a park.
I got the Bumbo out to share with a nephew and Eve took every opportunity to use it. Cute, cute little girl.
We had a nice Sunday celebrating Jacob's 12th birthday. I had told him his gift was the Saturday we spent together, but he was pleasantly surprised to receive a set of scriptures and notice that the newest Diary of a Wimpy Kid had been ordered for him. It was super weird for me dropping him off at Young Men's the following Tuesday, happy for him, but weird for sure.

The day after SEP's the kids were off from school. We ran some errands in Orem then hit a local pumpkin patch. Kid's had a grand time. (By the way, everyone got great SEP reports).
We watched our cats ruin our window screen:
We had a nice Sunday celebrating Joseph's birthday, which fell on the Baugh Halloween get-together. He had been waiting for this day forever. He was really pleased with all the Cars gifts he received. Earlier in the day Jacob was ordained. Gabe gave him such a nice blessing. Grandpa Gunderson was there as well as Grandma and Grandpa Baugh.
Ben's class worked on writing biographies and made pumpkin replicas, call Pumpkin-ographies. Ben has been SUPER interested in all things Disney related....ever heard of the Pixar theory? Have you got 30 minutes, he'd LOVE to tell you about it. He did his project on Walt Disney. His pumpkin is Walt "thinking" about Mickey Mouse. He did a great job on his oral report. I got there just a minute late and headed to the back to sit, when my neighbor pointed to an empty front seat with note that said, "reserved for Emily Gunderson."
All the kids came up with Reflections entries. Ben's was about Pixar and how it inspires him to want to be a computer animator. Lizzie drew a picture of a cat because she wants to be a veterinarian. Samuel took a picture of the mountains, and Jacob turned in a poem he had written in class (his entry moved on to the council level).
We had fun Halloween celebrations. Joseph had a great time at preschool and everyone enjoyed class parties and parading around the school, carving pumpkins and trick-or-treating.
